The My $360 SEIKI 39 inch 4K monitor is totally incredible. When I first thought about the delicious idea of an extremely high resolution 4K display as a flight simulation monitor option … I thought: TOO EXPENSIVE!!! The monitors I looked longingly at were in the $2000 plus category. I read some reviews on the SEIKI 4K, but the reviews were tepid at best. The writers evidently hadn’t actually seen one in operation since most of their comments were about the stand, or the bezel, or some other external part that they were nit-picking. Those types of criticisms didn’t make any different to me anyway; however, what did concern me was the 120 HZ rating. Several reviewers mentioned that the 120 HZ was “actually: 60 HZ and that was why they thought it wouldn’t be a good choice for flight simming. … Let me tell you up front … I don’t even know what a HZ (Hertz) has to do with flight simming … but this monitor is SMOOTH and there is NO LATENCY or lagging or jitters or whatever you want to call it. It is simply FANTASTIC!!! I searched the internet for the best price , and Walmart was the logical choice … at $329.00 (UH-OH, I see where they are out of stock right now); but they have an even better deal on the SCEPTRE U435CV-UMC 43” 4K Ultra HD . Their service was prompt and efficient. They even offer an inexpensive 3 year replacement (no questions asked) and you can send the monitor back if you didn’t want to keep it. I will tell you more about simming on a 4K monitor in a later BLOG. Click on this link to go to the Walmart site where the cheap 4K monitors are.
