Captain Mike Ray is a retired airline captain, military aviator, and one of aviation's most prolific and beloved training authors. With over 25 years in the cockpit of commercial jet airliners and a distinguished career as a U.S. Navy pilot, Captain Mike brings a rare combination of real-world experience, technical depth, and genuine passion for aviation to everything he writes.

A veteran of the USS Hornet's 1965 Far East cruise, Captain Mike flew anti-submarine warfare missions from carrier decks during one of the most intense periods of the Cold War — experiences he has chronicled with honesty and humor in his naval aviation memoirs.
